Mitchell Hamline offers three remote asynchronous general externship courses that can be taken in any order—the Spring, Summer, and Fall General Externship courses. (Students who have already completed the General Externship course for a particular term will be enrolled in an alternative asynchronous course.) In this course, students are responsible for finding their own site placements, and MHSL will provide an adjunct faculty supervisor. Students complete coursework as part of this class, including readings focused on learning from practice, reflective writings, meetings with supervisors, and evaluations by their site supervisors.
