This course provides students with the opportunity to observe and participate in expungement work at the Hennepin County Attorney's Office (HCAO). Students perform fieldwork under the supervision of a lawyer at the HCAO. The course faculty has an ongoing relationship with the HCAO and will remain in contact with HCAO staff throughout the externship.
An attorney at the HCAO will supervise all fieldwork. In addition to doing fieldwork, students meet as a group with the professor on a regular basis during the semester to discuss the law and societal impact of expungement.
